Welcome to Centreville, Virginia
Why is Centreville so named? According to this article, it was established in 1792 to be a center point to the more established towns in the area.
Well named, Centreville is in the middle of both history and lots to do and see. Although it doesn't have the shopping and dining options of some of the larger cities and towns surrounding it, the location is ideal for getting just about anywhere in the region. It's an easy drive to both Fair Oaks Mall and Tysons Corner. Situated just off I66, commuting is relatively easy, although traffic on the highway at rush hour can be congested.
Centreville saw lots of Civil War action, so there's plenty of historical sites to visit, and it's close to Prince William County, where there's enough history to keep you busy for many months. It's just ten miles from Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's annex at Washington Dulles International Airport. You'll also be near the Dulles Expo Center, which hosts many consumer shows throughout the year.
As part of Fairfax County, Centreville has good schools and several parks, making it a family friendly place to live.
